Vectrus Researcher/Parts Clerk in Montgomery, Alabama
- Ensures parts and materials are available to expedite the repair of all vehicles brought in to the vehicle maintenance facility. Takes necessary steps to ensure all vehicle repair activities are expedited through the aggressive and proactive ordering, repair, pick-up, delivery and distribution of parts, supplies and assets required for vehicle maintenance operations and activities at Maxwell-Gunter AFB.
Monitors and expedites all parts and material purchases
Monitors levels, orders, receives and stocks benchstock, chemicals and consumables to include parts and supplies for all scheduled mx
Monitors and logs tire and battery usage and conducts regular inventories of stocks to prevent loss.
Inventories and monitors high use parts consumption rates, submits orders to keep stock on-hand and suggests additions and deletions based on usage history.
Assists mechanics with and conducts parts research as required to expedite the purchase of all parts and materials.
Picks-up and delivers parts to expedite vehicle repairs
Expedites reparable asset repairs by aggressively tracking status, monitoring repairs and, providing prompt pick-up and delivery service.
Receives, logs, and distributes incoming parts, equipment, supplies and repaired equipment.
Monitors status of all back-ordered parts; tracks and inventories all received parts awaiting install.
Drops-off and picks-up non-special purpose vehicles at off-base repair centers
Manages all vehicle maintenance activity HAZMAT functions; to include all Environmental Management Systems, SDSs, storage, waste disposal, and all waste accumulations points.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum of a High School Diploma. Associates Degree in Automotive Service
Technology or Community College of the Air Force Associates Degree in Applied Science in Vehicle Maintenance or associated USAF logistics discipline is preferred.
Minimum of 3 Years' expediting parts/supplies for a Vehicle Maintenance Shop.
Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and related computer software.
Working knowledge of automotive systems and parts.
Strong organizational skills and ability to accomplish responsibilities with limited supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
