Kadiak LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Kadiak and our government customer at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama.

The Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of the pharmacists and contribute to the overall pharmacy mission by performing a wide range of tasks related to medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient care support.

Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing)

  • Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

  • Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health.

  • Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in outpatient or community pharmacy within the past 3 years

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation, and Criminal History Background Check (CHBC)

  • Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently\

Core Duties:

  • The Pharmacy Technicians will perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.

  • Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.

  • The Pharmacy Technicians will complete quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.

  • Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.

  • The Pharmacy Technicians will clean pharmacy equipment and facilities as required by pharmacy management. Operates government owed vehicles of duties.

  • Transport and restock medications to the kiosks on Maxwell AFB and Gunter AFB.

  • The Pharmacy Technicians will dispense medications and supplies to patients and clinics.

  • Review patients computerized drug profiles and adhere to pharmacy policy/operating instructions when discrepancies are found.

  • The Pharmacy Technicians will attend and participate in professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities.

  • Complete all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientations and training programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work at an acceptable speed and accuracy standard

  • Demonstrate teamwork and self-initiative

  • Adhere to pharmacy policies and operating instructions

  • Participate in required training programs and orientations

  • Successful candidates must be Up to date on immunizations

  • Annual Flu immunizations are required

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
