Guardian Life API Solution Lead in Montgomery, Alabama
The API Solution Lead is the central figure who combines know-how from both the business and technology teams, driving detailed API design by working closely with business and API development experts to galvanize our API strategy and approach.
You are a life-long learner who continues to build your technical acumen and understanding of the constantly evolving technology partner ecosystem. You are a champion in identifying solutions to create valuable integrations within the market. You are the unifying force among several diverse perspectives, addressing the development process, analytics, sales/distribution and multiple user experiences. Furthermore, you maintain a pulse on the dynamic industry standards and represent Guardian’s interests and viewpoints among carriers and LIMRA.
Post launch you evaluate adoption and consumption metrics and obtain feedback from developers and users to identify necessary fixes and improvements ensuring Guardian’s APIs remain best in class. You interface regularly with key internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve issues and advance the strategy.
You Will
Act as a liaison between technology and business leadership teams across the enterprise
Cultivate the API strategy and act as the API champion across all Agile Release Trains involved with external or internal APIs.
Have an excellent understanding of your audience and stakeholders.
Engage with business leaders to process alignment and perform change management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create APIs that deliver revolutionary change to the client experience.
Engage in implementing, testing, securing, configuring and deploying APIs.
Be aware of and consult with architecture and design as needed.
Create awareness and promote the value of the importance of APIs to Guardian.
Serve as a mentor and coach to peers and team members in the API development space.
Collaborate with vendor partners both directly and indirectly through the Strategic Partner Managers and Integration Leads.
Qualifications
You Have
BA/BS or equivalent work experience, minimum of 3 years managing and successfully delivering complex and/or multi-year transformative programs across Business and IT.
Experience working in a SAFe agile software development environment.
Strong process and product management skills
Deep understanding of technical capabilities with the ability to translate business needs into capabilities focused on customer experience and agile product development.
Ability to support construction and prioritization of program backlogs with significant collaboration from IT, Business, Architecture, Vendor Partners and Product Owners.
Experience with Agile toolset (JIRA, JIRA-ALIGN, Confluence).
Creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate strategies into actions.
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrixed environment with a positive attitude.
Strong influencing and communication skills with ability to socialize the strategy and roadmap at various levels of the organization, ability to “tell the story”.
Salary Range
$82,660.00 - $135,805.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
