The Transportation Supervisor provides overall supervision over personnel performing Transportation operations in accordance with contract requirement (PPSO, Freight, NTV/Bus Service) and directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the installation transportation effort at Presidio of Monterey.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the establishment, operation, performance, and management of installation transportation support services.

  • Supervise the operation of a multi-service Personal Property Processing Office (PPPO) in accordance with DoD 4500.9-R, Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), JPPSO Business rules, and other service-specific governing regulations.

  • Supervise the management and performance of passenger movements, to include all phases of passenger and port call movements within CONUS and OCONUS for all personnel authorized for passenger travel under the authority of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), DoD 4500.9-R (DTR Part I), Defense Transportation Regulation, and AR 55-46, Travel To/From/Between Overseas Areas. Services include, but are not limited to, advising, counseling, arranging, preparing, and distributing documentation for authorized personnel.

  • Supervise the management and operation a transportation motor pool (TMP) providing services to include general administration, dispatch, and control of the GSA fleet in accordance with priorities and guidance set by the COR/Government representative.

  • Supervise materiel movements and the operational functions pertaining to the movement of Government-owned cargo by all modes of transportation within CONUS and OCONUS preparing all necessary documentation for movements.

  • Will utilize systems which identify deployment information such as dates, units, equipment, and locations.

  • Plans and directs personnel and required resources for day-to-day mission support.

  • Will operate within a national transportation system that is fully responsive and globally capable of meeting personnel and materiel movement requirements of the Department of Defense across the range of military operations.

  • Governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in Army ground transportation and dispatching; driver selection, training, testing, and licensing.

  • Army vehicle accident reporting.

  • Conduct meetings, evaluate plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Minimum ten (10) years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of transportation functions, governing regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Possess and continuously maintain a current valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the installation’s transportation processes.

  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.

  • Possess operational skill and knowledge of the relevant Logistics Information Systems to include Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS – for Fleet Management Purposes), Defense Personal Property System (DPS), and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).

  • Possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.

  • Knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions in the areas of personal property, unit movement, materiel movement, and transportation motor pool operations.

  • Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues, and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to customers.

  • Experience with employee supervision and managing teams.

  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access.

Estimated Salary/Wage

Up to USD $66,000.00/Yr.
