Aludyne - Montague LLC Operations Supervisor in Montague, Michigan

Position Summary:

Supervise production employees in a designated area and is responsible for the maintenance of good employee relations together with discipline and safety being of the utmost importance of employees.  Position is accountable for specified quantity, quality and cost of product within material specifications and labor standards. 

Education and Experience:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of hourly employees.
  • Maintain a safe work environment which includes zero recordable injuries, identify near misses, on time LPA completion.
  • Monitor daily and weekly schedules in addition to scheduling overtime and weekend work or any schedule changeovers.
  • Monitor procedures required to be performed by hourly employees, to ensure consistency.
  • Monitor all areas of the plant safety, cleanliness and order.
  • Monitor and implement continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives and scrap reduction.
  • Assign work to hourly employees. Work together with programmers and maintenance to ensure efficiency/monitor operators to ensure they are keeping up with cycle time and making quality parts.
  • When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
  • Administrative- Paylocity -- attendance and payroll approval process
  • Perform evaluations on all hourly employees.
  • Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the Operation Manager or Plant Manager.

Decisions Making Scope/Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Direct reports, if any and the level of supervision

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • The job works in conditions with constant exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc. Long periods of walking and standing are required.
  • This person works in a fast-paced environment and must be able to make quick decisions in order to maximize production while maintaining focus on safety and quality to meet customer expectations. The nature of the product mix for all operations may cause changing priorities frequently.
