Manage the safety, quality and production of the melt area.
Requirements:
::: {bind="html: Job.Requirements"} • Knowledge of aluminum furnace operations, maintenance, and repairs
• Knowledge of proper and safe treatment of molten aluminum
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the team
• Ability to train and develop the skills of the Melt personnel
• Displays sound judgement and decision-making skills
• Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft office
• Furnace repair and maintenance
• Monitor and order melt materials
• Cross train the employees on correct melt procedures
• Develop and optimize melt procedures
• Manage melting and metal treatment/transfer operations
• Manage continual improvement
• Maintain the department with a "5S" philosophy
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner
• Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned
Decisions Making Scope/Supervisory Responsibility:
• Supervises Melt area personnel on all 3 shifts.
Other:
• Full-Time
• Must able to work off shifts as needed
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job;
• The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
• The employee is required to type, using a computer.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The job works in conditions with regular exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
