JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State Student Affairs Residence Life Office is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team as a Quarantine and Isolation Coordinator. The Quarantine and Isolation (Q&I) Coordinator reports to the Quarantine and Isolation Manager for all COVID-19 quarantine and isolation related tasks as well administrative responsibilities while students are not in quarantine or isolation. This position is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department.

Responsibilities of his position include, but are not limited to:
Quarantine and Isolation
Create educational materials to support Residence Life initiatives, educational pieces that could assist with pro-actively addressing behaviors; create bulletin boards and electronic marketing materials that support campus campaigns; develop social media content in alignment with Residence Life initiatives
Hear low level conduct cases to do with masking/physical distancing
Distribute masks, hand sanitizer, etc.
Field question and answer (Q&A) chats, seek correct information from campus authorities, share pre-approved messages/Q&A responses as developed by the campus
Coordinate student check-in process at the hotel (does not include reservations)
Update Quarantine and Isolation room information as needed
Administrative tasks related to Quarantine and Isolation such as tracking spreadsheets, track/communicate student concerns at off-campus hotels
Potential duty including overnights in off-campus locations
Student Development and Residence Education
Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a residence education programs for the area
Assist with the development and implementation of campus-wide programs
Make referrals to campus and community agencies when appropriate
Encourage student involvement and their programming efforts
Act as an advocate for students by communicating their concerns and issues to the appropriate agency
Interpret and enforce University and residence hall policies and procedures
Mediate conflicts between and among students
Assist with the daily operation and organization of the area and the area office
Handle requests for room changes and contract releases in collaboration with Housing staff
Assist in promoting the safety and security of residents
Assist in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Housing and Food Services, Police and Public Safety, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, etc.
Demonstrate a commitment to students and the quality of their life in the residence hall environment
Assist the Resident Assistants in developing and promoting a positive living environment
Demonstrate a commitment to human relations/diversity/social justice issues
Plan and implement programs in conjunction with Resident Assistants and students
Demonstrate a commitment to staff and student retention and recruitment efforts, particularly as they impact members of underrepresented groups
Performs other duties as assigned
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher (Master’s Degree preferred) plus one year of related experience. This is a limited-term appointment funded for up to six months from date of hire.
