We are a manufacturer of structural parts for the leading original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) in the large business and regional jet markets. The Production Scheduler plans the work schedule of production departments using work order information and available inventory quantities. The efficient use of resources through production scheduling saves organizations money and ensures timely delivery to customers. Schedulers plan production start dates by beginning with the date materials are available for production or by working back from the customer due date. What will my responsibilities include? Directs, and coordinates the planning and scheduling activities and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for Operations Creates forecasts, launch schedules and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements while coordinating production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedule Generate, maintain and communicate executable production schedules for manufacturing, special projects and loose parts sales to match customer demands Develop capacity planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; level load the production plan or expediting, and communicate to the Planning/Purchasing groups Review new product introductions, and promotion calendars with Planning, Sales and Operations to ensure that Supply Chain can support all program requirements Present summary of key information at weekly and monthly production meetings, work closely with Planning, marketing and sales management to plan and execute special and regional promotions Participate in meetings, and keep up to date on issues related to sales forecast, manufacturing, planning, new product introductions, line fill rates, metrics, and other related supply chain issues Measure track and drive continuous improvement related to schedule adherence and manufacturing cycle time Identify, investigate, and resolve material, machine and manpower constraints that interfere with schedule completion Monitor schedule execution, prioritize and resolve issues as required Drive best known methods to improve scheduling and transparency with the operations and planning groups Work with sales, supply chain and product marketing to anticipate capacity needs to support sales strategies and forecasts M
