We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our growing team! This role will be responsible for collecting past due items on B&N Institutional and Corporate customer accounts. (Specific states will be assigned to an AR representative to ensure accountability and to provide our customers with a single point of call contact.) This role will communicate with both customers and B&N stores in order to provide resolution on open receivables pertaining to invoices within customer accounts. The end result is that customer obligations are met through payment in full for outstanding invoices.

This role is based in our Monroe, NJ office.

WhatYouDo:

• Provides both the stores and customers with necessary invoice/statement detail backup

• Researches root causes surrounding why invoices have not been paid

• Interacts with several different internal and external departments to ensure payments are timely

• Contact customers via phone, fax and email surrounding outstanding balances

• Engages Manager when necessary for problematic account issues

• Performs effective follow up on promise to pays and broken promise items while prioritizing aged items

Knowledge&Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of customer service or related experience in a specialty retail environment preferred

• Working knowledge of Oracle AR software

• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite

• Must be able to effectively communicate in oral and written format, including effective communication via phone calls, faxes, one on one conversation and emails to customers, stores and other B&N departments

• Must be able to communicate ideas and concerns to both the AR Team and Manager
