Backyard Products Prototype Technician in Monroe, Michigan

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to actively | | participate in hands-on prototype construction, spanning from initial | | product development to production, with a focus on verifying design, | | materials, and manufacturing processes. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As a member of the New Product Development team, the Prototype | | Technician will play a key role in building prototypes and offering | | constructive feedback to enhance product quality. Responsibilities | | also include constructing, painting, and readying sheds for customer | | presentations, in addition to supporting the Marketing team by | | assisting in photo shoots for sheds and playsets. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Key Responsibilities: (Other duties as assigned) | | | | | | | | - Spearhead the construction of prototype sheds and playsets as the | | primary lead. | | - Determine assembly steps for comprehensive assembly instruction | | manuals. | | - Con ribute to the development and review of assembly instruction | | manuals. | | - Collaborate with the Quality team to inspect and validate new | | products or components. | | - Lead contract builders when additional support is required. | | - Demonstrate self-initiative, completing projects based on | | detailed deliverables. | | - Thrive in fast-paced environments, consistently delivering | | results within project timelines. | | - Bring enthusiasm and a proactive mindset, actively contributing | | ideas and improvements. | | - Display the ability to see projects through completion, engaging | | with various departments from the office to the manufacturing | | floor. | | | | | | | | Required Experience: | | | | | | | | - High school diploma or GED | | - 3 years of carpentry/building experience | | - Experience with wood working tools such as hand tools, saws, nail | | guns, chop saws, and drills etc. | | - Ability to read blueprints and part drawings | | - Ability to drive a forklift for moving sheds and playsets | | - Maintain a safe and clean prototype build workshop | | - MS Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook) | | | | | | | | Preferred Experience: | | | | | | | | - 5 years of carpentry experience | | - Roofing/shingling experience | | - AutoCAD experience | | | | | | | | Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to | | cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or | | responsibilities that are required of the incumbent for this job. | | Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with | | or without notice. | | | | | | | | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
