Monroe Center for Healthy Aging Assistant Director in Monroe, Michigan

The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director, is involved in overall agency operations and assist the Executive Director with planning, Center operations, and special agency and community initiatives. Work with the Executive Director on agency planning and development in support of the strategic plan and advancement of the organization. Work with the Executive Director on budget development, grant writing, and unit monitoring to ensure accountability in meeting goals and objectives. Work collaboratively with Center staff on fundraising, special events and other communications. Attend community meetings and Board of Directors meetings, as requested. Participate in agency fundraisers and special events. Supervise the kitchen staff, including monitoring of food service acquisition and budgets, and staffing, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and standards. Place orders to food service vendors and purchase needed food items in accordance with the budget. Oversee all operational aspects of the Center’s facilities. Ensure that health andsafety standards and general maintenance of the facility are maintained – compliance with fire drills and emergency procedures, preventive maintenance of equipment, and space management, including documentation and paperwork that ensures safety and cleanliness, as well as monitoring and documenting proper preventative maintenance of equipment and property; i.e., exhaust hood, filters in kitchen, air/heating units, and compressors on refrigeration units, doorways, signage, sidewalks on a regular basis. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to the Center’s policies and procedures. Maintain individual skills and knowledge through participation in education and training in order to maintain current competency in job-related responsibilities. Maintain open communication with the Executive Director. All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
