JOB VACANCY NOTICE POSITION: Child Care Aide Multiple Part Time Positions Available at our Monessen and Monongahela Locations The Child Learning Centers provide day programming, Monday through Friday, for pre-school children, Pre-K services and after school services for elementary school age children. Childcare provides educational and support services to families. Children six weeks through 12 years of age attend infant/toddler, pre-school and after school centers in Monessen and Monongahela. The primary function of this program is to facilitate a child’s emotional, intellectual, social, and physical growth and development while supporting the family. A Child Care Aide assists the Group Leader with recreational activities and/or individual instruction in a group setting. In your role as a Child Care Aide you will be responsible for maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children, maintain cleanliness of the center, assists with serving meals to the children and works with the Group Leader to help children progress toward educational and behavioral goals as well as prepare children to enter the next level of care or for entry into school. COMPREHENSIVE BENEFIT PACKAGE (FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES) INCLUDING MEDICAL AND DENTAL OPPORTUNITY FOR PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND ADVANCEMENT TUITION DISCOUNTS WITH PARTICIPATING COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES QUALIFICATIONS: • Child Development Associate credentials or Associate Degree in early childhood education preferred, or early childhood training/credit hours; these hours must be experience with a non-relative child. • Ability to receive, understand, and communicate information with effectiveness, and follow instructions. • Ability to read, understand and implement job descriptions, DHS Regulations, SPHS Child Learning Center announcements, philosophies, policies and procedures, and STARS and Pre-K Counts requirements. • Successful completion of required employment physicals. • Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police and Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, FBI Fingerprint Clearance and National Sex Offender Registry Clearance. • Must not be excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal health care programs. • Ability to assist, move and/or transfer children weighing up to 50 pounds, may be required. • Ability to interact with children by walking, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, and jumping indoors, outdoors, and on field trips.
