The DC Manager is responsible for working with the DC Supervisors and Inventory Control Team, Workflow, Quality, & Production Specialists to ensure the functions of the Distribution Center are functioning effectively, productively, and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:

  • Develops the weekly road map for all DC operational areas and delegates tasks to employees to ensure all work steps are being executed effectively.
  • Provides freight quotes to internal customer service & purchasing department and coordinates transportation providers to ensure prompt freight shipments.
  • Responsible for developing, improving and documenting the processes for coordinating DC functions with the ERP Software and any assigned special projects. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the functionality and infrastructure of the DC and making recommendations for improvements or changes.
  • Organizes special shipping arrangements as needed (consolidated/dedicated/INTL shipments) to ensure quality of services provided meet required standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness in Workforce Planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Determines resource needs and manages the members of the Distribution Center as a highly functional team while promoting a diverse, harassment-free work environment.
  • Works with the Senior Supply Chain Manager and Human Resources as needed to evaluate time management, performance management, coaching, & career development of Distribution Center employees.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all employee-related issues, proprietary, planning, development, or operational processes, procedures, products of documentation. 
  • Works with Direct Reports to develop individual and team metrics based on historical and anticipated activity.
  • Promotes a diverse, harassment-free work environment.
  • Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain and at least 5 years supervisory experience in a Distribution Center environment. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, Warehouse Management Systems and Shipping Software and Distribution Center layout required.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all proprietary, planning, development or operational processes, procedures, products or documentation.
  • Ability to develop a collaborative work environment within the team and other departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills including ability to add, su tract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities and collaboration skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.
  • Industrial Equipment certification required with valid Driver's License.  Equipment includes but is not limited to a fork truck, reach truck, order picker and electric jack.  Immediate notification of suspension or revocation of Driver's License is mandatory.
