JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Beaver Center for Academic Achievement is seeking student workers (CAA Staff) to work in the Center as a Greeter and/or Book Guard for the Academic Year 2021-2022. The position is only open to PSU Beaver students. Job duties fall into two categories

  • Greeter:

  • sits at Center front desk;

  • greets all entering visitors;

  • assists with sign-in procedures;

  • updates and saves Excel spreadsheet log of visitors;

  • assists students in making appointments and/or locating tutors;

  • tracks use of lab computers and printer;

  • supplies paper and other learning tools

  • maintains Center cleanliness and performs sanitation procedures;

  • if assigned closing shift, locks doors at closing;

  • reports technical problems to Coordinator.

  • Book Guard:

  • sits in DaVinci Room (textbook library);

  • assists students in locating and signing out course materials;

  • accepts returned materials and reshelves them;

  • updates shelves and computer files with semester-appropriate materials;

  • tags and shelves new and renewed materials each semester;

  • maintains appropriate and orderly shelving of textbook library;

  • maintains Center cleanliness and performs sanitation procedures;

  • reports missing or delinquent materials to Coordinator.

Both positions require student worker to maintain Center cleanliness and performs sanitation procedures. Work hours will be reported through Workday.

​This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:• PA State Police Criminal Background Check• PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form• FBI Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
