The estimated season is from May through October. The standard hours are Monday-Saturday 11:00pm-8:00am. Actual hours may vary and will be determined by the supervisor. Based on business needs, additional hours (including weekends) may be required

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Operator-Laser Weeder is responsible for contributing to increased crop quality, quantity, and yield by operating, adjusting, and maintaining precision computer optics AI equipment (Laser-Weeder).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate large tractor, hook up and adjust AI equipment/Laser-Weeder.
  • Operate Laser-Weeder and adjust/troubleshoot performance as needed during operation.
  • Install, calibrate, and operate basic tractor GPS guidance equipment.
  • Perform major and minor repairs and modifications on equipment. Fuel tractor when required.
  • Properly clean and sanitize equipment, prepare for the next shifts use and/or storage during non-use.
  • Load/unload Laser-weeder onto custom trailer and move between field locations.
  • Work with team to help determine field priority and schedule based on weed pressure, harvest schedule, irrigation, cultivating, and spaying.
  • Gather and report equipment/data metrics as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Laser-Weeder equipment, provide continuous improvement strategies by completing equipment training and staying up to date on equipment best practices.
  • Communicate directly with Carbon Robotics via phone call for troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Follow all quality and safety rules/protocols.
  • Safe operations on roadways when moving farm equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of farm operation success.

JOB EXPERIENCE

:

  • 3+ years of mechanical/technical experience including large tractor operation and maintenance.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to sit and stay focused and alert while operating a tractor and attached equipment at a slow pace on a straight designated path for multiple hours.
  • This position requires organizational and detail skills, a problem-solving approach, and a firm grasp on agriculture operations.
  • Technical and mechanical knowledge that can be applied to troubleshoot/problem solve.
  • Ability to utilize the software system for both Laser-Weeder and tractor GPS.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take on responsibility for the operation, care, and maintenance of industry advanced Laser-Weeder AI technology equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to complete required trainings and certifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver\'s License.
  • Carbon Robotics training will be provided.

COMPENSATION :

  • Expected Pay Range: \$21.25- \$22.95 /hr, non-exempt

  • Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
