Other duties or teaching assignments as appropriate to qualifications and experience. r rRANK & SALARY: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track. Salary competitive. For full benefit information visit: http://www.wiu.edu/vpas/human\_resources/benefits/. r rRequirements: r rREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Music Education or related field (ABD considered); history of successful classroom music teaching at the elementary and/or secondary level; scholarly/research achievement relative to current stage of applicant's career; evidence of exemplary pedagogical skills and knowledge. r rPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Broad experience in music teaching (experience and/or certification in Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze, and/or Music Learning Theory); 5 years public school music teaching at the elementary level; demonstrated musicianship skills on classroom instruments; knowledge/experience guiding student teachers and navigating teacher licensure; strong knowledge of/experience with music education for students with special needs; knowledge/experience with online teaching; record of professional activities and involvement in music. r rFor a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).
