ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Responds to all emergencies, including fuel spills, fire suppression, victim rescue, first aid, on-site accidents/incidents, medicals etc.
  2. Responds to alarms and dispatched calls via foot or vehicle; decides what actions to take based on the situation, facts known and position limitations.
  3. Protects airport property and persons by citation, arrest, or other intervention.
  4. Patrols airport property by foot or vehicle and identifies security breaches, safety hazards and problems.
  5. Conducts daily airfield inspections per FAA Part 139 regulations. Completes all required documentation of airfield inspections.
  6. Actively engages in wildlife mitigation, harassing, dispersing, and destroying/disposing of wildlife per FAA Part 139 regulations. Completes all required wildlife documentation and reporting.
  7. Investigates suspicious activities and situations observed through field or electronic surveillance.
  8. Circulates among visitors, tenants, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
  9. Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and detains, apprehends, or evicts violators from premises, using force when necessary.
  10. Interviews suspects, victims and witnesses and prepares/submits written reports regarding criminal incidents, on-site accidents, hazards, or security infractions.
  11. Escorts unauthorized individuals in the secured areas of the airport.
  12. May operate and monitor security control panels, alarms, and related security equipment to provide area and visitor security.
  13. Monitors weather conditions, reporting threatening conditions to Communications Operators and the Operations Department.
  14. Organizes and maintains all required paperwork, logs, activity, and incident reports, etc.
  15. Operates a variety of computer, electronic access, surveillance, and other equipment.
  16. Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  17. Responds to citizens questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
