ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Responds to all emergencies, including fuel spills, fire suppression, victim rescue, first aid, on-site accidents/incidents, medicals etc.
- Responds to alarms and dispatched calls via foot or vehicle; decides what actions to take based on the situation, facts known and position limitations.
- Protects airport property and persons by citation, arrest, or other intervention.
- Patrols airport property by foot or vehicle and identifies security breaches, safety hazards and problems.
- Conducts daily airfield inspections per FAA Part 139 regulations. Completes all required documentation of airfield inspections.
- Actively engages in wildlife mitigation, harassing, dispersing, and destroying/disposing of wildlife per FAA Part 139 regulations. Completes all required wildlife documentation and reporting.
- Investigates suspicious activities and situations observed through field or electronic surveillance.
- Circulates among visitors, tenants, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and detains, apprehends, or evicts violators from premises, using force when necessary.
- Interviews suspects, victims and witnesses and prepares/submits written reports regarding criminal incidents, on-site accidents, hazards, or security infractions.
- Escorts unauthorized individuals in the secured areas of the airport.
- May operate and monitor security control panels, alarms, and related security equipment to provide area and visitor security.
- Monitors weather conditions, reporting threatening conditions to Communications Operators and the Operations Department.
- Organizes and maintains all required paperwork, logs, activity, and incident reports, etc.
- Operates a variety of computer, electronic access, surveillance, and other equipment.
- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Responds to citizens questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
