The plan will include recruitment and communication strategies designed to increase the number of students enrolling at Western rIllinois. r* Represent Western Illinois University at in-person or virtual recruitment functions which include high school and community college visits, presentations, college fairs, community-based organizations and special recruitment programs both on and off campus. r* Engage prospective and admitted students with extensive, proactive communication by telephone, social media, electronic and other tactics as an active part of recruitment. r* Coordinate recruitment events off-campus in your territory as identified in your strategic recruitment plan. r* Conduct in-office admissions counselor functions, meeting 1:1 with students/families, providing group presentations, campus tours and other recruitment activities. r* Participate in on- and off-campus student recruitment events, both in-person and virtual, such as Discover Western Preview Days, Experience Western and Admitted Student Days. r* Perform other administrative duties as assigned. r* Extensive travel with overnight stays up to a week at a time, weekends and evening hours is required. r* Other duties as assigned. r rRANK & SALARY: $38,484 to $43,848 annually. For full benefit information visit: http://www.wiu.edu/vpas/human\_resources/benefits/. r rRequirements: r rREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: r r* Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. r* Ability to work evenings, weekends & overnight stays of multiple day length. r* Ability to work with diverse populations. r* Strong written and oral communication skills. r* Valid driver's license. r r* Ability to lift (or have an adaptation to lift) up to 50-pound boxes of recruitment materials on a daily basis. r rPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: r r* Bilingual or conversant in Spanish. r* Recent experience working in higher education. r* Recent experience working in a higher education admissions office. r rFor a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment. r rAdditional Information: r rTHE DEPARTMENT: Undergraduate Admissions of Western Illinois University is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for an Admissions Counselor position. This position professionally represents the university and will recruit students to Western Illinois University. Recruitment efforts are ongoing and vary throughout the year as focus shifts among the following activities: on and off campus school visits, college fairs and recruitment events (in-person and virtual); communication with prospective students through the admissions funnel (from initial contact to enrollment); student engagement activities and relationship development with influencer organizations. rThe position will be based on the main campus n Macomb, IL with significant overnight travel to a recruitment territory.
