General Information & Responsibilities
Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part-time Instructors for the Adult Education (non-credit) English as a Second Language program. Instructor will provide English as a Second Language instruction to improve students' English language skills and prepare them for cultural integration in the workforce and community.
Mostly in person instruction at the Community Education Center in Kewanee, IL. Applications reviewed immediately.
Description of Duties
Prepare and deliver instruction based on textbooks and supporting materials. Administer standardized tests to measure progress.
Using a provided curriculum, faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities to enhance the students’ educational experience; evaluate students’ performance; and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Previous teaching experience or experience with ESL learners preferred.

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (as of Fall 2024)
Bachelor's Degree = $25.97 per contact hour
Bachelor's +15 Degree = $28.14 per contact hour
Masters = $30.30 per contact hour
