The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CMIS) is an outpatient surgery center with 4 ORs and 1 procedure room offering advance surgical procedures to patients in a unique patient-focused environment. CMIS currently offers surgeries in Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Pain Management, General Spine Surgery and Orthopedics including complex spine surgery and total joint surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip. In addition, CMIS has a unique 5 bed Recovery Care Center which allows postoperative stays up to 48 hours.
Responsibilities
Position includes post operative care of spinal fusion and total joint surgeries at our 5 bed Recovery Care Center. Primary shift needed to be filled include 2-10 and 10p-6a. Skills needed include 3-5 years of clinical floor nursing experience, orthopedics preferred, ACLS and BLS. 2 RN’s on staff at all times. Shifts can be expected to be available 1-3 shifts/week.
Weekend shifts include premium weekend pay
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the success of patient outcomes, patient satisfaction and healthcare.
Assess the physical and emotional needs of the patient and implements appropriate interventions.
Comfortable in administering IV and PO medications as ordered. Monitors effect and immediately responds to any adverse reaction.
Assures patient meets discharge criteria prior to discharge.
Assesses patient progress and ability to discharge patient safely.
Documents all required information in patient’s medical record.
Willingly accepts and performs all other duties as assigned.
Competent and responsive to emergency situations.
Sets priorities to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse licensed by the State of Illinois
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
3-5 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
Basic computer skills
Completion of BLS, ACLS
USD $27.07/Hr. USD $48.22/Hr.
