Description

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Modesto, California. The role involves a variety of accounting duties from clerical, financial, customer, and administrative services. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment in the agriculture industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Keying the day's bills and vendor invoices for payments.

• Performing a variety of accounts payable and accounting functions according to established procedures.

• Receiving invoices and matching them with work orders and other verification processes, preparing the bills for payment.

• Making timely payments to vendors and checking other people's work to ensure final figures are correct.

• Answering accounts payable inquiries and following up, either by phone or in person.

• Performing month-end closing procedures and tasks as directed.

• Assisting and working with accounts receivables and product buyers.

• Assisting in the annual company audits.

• General office duties including but not limited to filing, answering phones, mailings, scanning, preparing documents, data entry, typing, operating office machines, word processing, scheduling, and attending meetings.

• Utilizing various software systems including but not limited to: Outlook, Microsoft Office, Agvance, Accuterm, Nitro, and/or Adobe.

Requirements • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk for at least one year

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Demonstrated ability to perform check runs

• Familiarity with coding invoices

• Solid data entry skills with attention to detail

• Experience in invoice processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Strong team player with a commitment to success

• High school diploma or equivalent educational level

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and regulatory standards

• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
