Description

Robert Half has an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk opportunity in a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals. The candidate in this role will work closely with and report to the Accounting Manager. Other responsibilities include attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The main responsibilities will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Mobile, Alabama area and will be a long-term contract to full time position.

Major responsibilities

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

  • Perform full-cycle A/P

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

  • Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs

  • Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time

    Requirements

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Expertise in Positive Pay

  • Experience with Enter Vendor Invoices

  • Adeptness in Post Invoices

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Maintain Vendor Files experience

  • Proficiency in Coding Invoices

  • Excellent attention to detail
