Missouri Valley Community School District Physical Education/High School Strength and Conditioning Teacher/Coach in Missouri Valley, Iowa

JOB SUMMARY: The Missouri Valley Community School Districts Strength and Conditioning Coach, is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for athletes to enhance their performance, reduce the risk of injury, and optimize their overall physical fitness. This role requires expertise in exercise science, sports physiology, and nutrition to design tailored programs that align with the specific needs and goals of individual athletes or sports teams. The position designs, coordinates and monitors a summer strength and conditioning program for the Missouri Valley athletic department. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following: 1. Design and implement evidence-based strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of athletes, considering factors such as age, skill level, sport requirements, and injury history. 2. Conduct thorough assessments of athletes to evaluate their current fitness levels, identify strengths and weaknesses, and establish baseline measurements for progress tracking. 3. Lead structured training sessions to instruct athletes on proper exercise techniques, lifting mechanics, and injury prevention strategies. 4. Provide guidance on nutrition and hydration strategies to support optimal performance, muscle recovery, and overall health. 5. Continuously monitor athletes' progress, adjust training protocols as needed, and evaluate the effectiveness of the strength and conditioning programs. 6. Collaborate with sports medicine professionals and physical therapists to develop and implement rehabilitation protocols for injured athletes, focusing on safe and effective return-to-play strategies. 7. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of strength training equipment, ensuring it is in safe and working condition for athlete use. 8. Educate athletes, coaches, and other staff members on the principles of strength and conditioning, injury prevention techniques, and performance enhancement strategies through workshops, presentations, and regular communication. 9. Serve as a role model and mentor to students, instilling values such as discipline, perseverance, integrity, and leadership. 10. Stay current with advancements in exercise science, sports nutrition, and strength training methodologies by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education with Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Physiology, or related field. 2.
