Citigroup Senior ETL/ Data Analyst in Mississauga, Ontario

Experience:

  1. 5-8 years of hands on work experience in the Financial Services Data Warehousing.

  2. Experience with high performance & high volume data ware house systems.

  3. Strong database development capabilities.

  4. Demonstrated design and delivery experience in the full lifecycle of data. Knowledge of information delivery architecture.

  5. Broad and deep understanding of challenges with data management in large enterprises, data acquisition, integration and data quality architecture.

  6. Extensive experience in developing and managing full life cycle of ETL deliverables. Sourcing from multiple source systems using ETL to implement the data transformation rules and load into the data warehouse.

  7. Post Trade Processing Experience; Familiarity with Transactional costs of various securities, Trade Capture and Exception Handling.

  8. Ability to carry out adaptive changes necessitated by changes in Business Requirements and Technology.

  9. Display sound analytical, problem solving, presentation and inter-personal skills to handle various critical situations.

  10. Technology: - Strong ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) concepts, DW (OLTP and OLAP) methodology and Strong SQL skills. Python,Java and Scripting knowledge is a plus.

  11. Tools and Applications: - Oracle, Netezza, Talend/Informatica, Java, Unix Shell Scripting, PL/SQL and Store Procedures.

  12. Knowledge in Financial products like EQ, FX, Fixed Income , Futures.

  13. Knowledge in GMI system.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for developing new business functionality and new features of a variable transactional expense system.

  2. Extract data from heterogeneous data sources with multiple databases and transform into a harmonized data store under stringent business deadlines.

  3. Responsible to design and implement all stages of data life cycle. Maintain coding and naming standards.

  4. Interact closely with the Data Analysts and Users during Unit Testing, Integration, UAT and PROD rollout.

  5. Design database table structures for transactional and reference data sources, maintain data model up to date as per the requirements.

  6. Analysis design development installation and configuration of databases on multiple platforms and operating systems. Configure and administer Database servers. Create new functions, procedures and packages using NZSQL to implement business rules.

  7. Generate automated and load procedures batch job administration, optimize database performance and SQL queries. Provide capacity planning and space allocation.

  8. Designing, testing and implementation of backup / recovery procedure for database. Design and implement database security. Trouble shoots network databases. Design table structures and custom reports.

  9. Program new transformations, mappings, workflows and loading procedures using ETL technologies to implement business rules using the best practices to achieve high performance load times.

  10. Performs technical analysis of software, hardware, identifies and resolves complex problems utilizing structured troubleshooting methods, techniques and tools.

  11. Evaluates systems specifications for complex business requirements, develops and prepares computer solutions; determines and implements the most efficient and cost effective solution. Prepare technical specification documents and mapping documents.

  12. Designs logical and physical data bases and coordinates database development as part of project team, applying knowledge of data base design standards and data base management system.

  13. Reviews project request describing database user needs. Estimates time and cost required to accomplish project. Determines if project requires creating series of new programs or modifying existing programs that access data stored in data bases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering.

Master’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering is a plus.
