About this role

The Operations Manager (ALC Canada) reports directly to the General Manager of ALC Canada. The purpose of the Operations Manager is to support Operations for ALC Canada with up to a dozen direct reports encompassing project managers, coordinators, and supervisors.

The Operations Manager will manage a portfolio of projects that range in size from less than $50k to greater than $5M in size and an active backlog of up to approximately $30M.

The Operations Manager will actively contribute to Canada Management as a member of the Canadian leadership team through regular feedback and recommendations on best practices and efficiency improvements.

This is an onsite opportunity for someone willing to work in Mississauga, ON .

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver operations and projects to meet established targets and metrics.

  • Lead execution of short-term operational goals to ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies.

  • Manage and lead a professional team to ensure the area of responsibility meets business strategy goals and objectives including project managers, supervisors, technicians, and coordinators.

  • Review contracts and agreements to ensure that the organization's interests are protected.

  • Develop and implement new business growth strategies to increase profitability and/or market share of the organization.

  • Represent ALC to key stakeholders to present a positive image of the organization.

  • Support compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), ethics, and quality control policies by overseeing necessary training, audits, and documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a business or technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of management experience i.e., strategic planning, budgeting; coaching, and leading people.

  • 2+ years of experience or technical knowledge of building controls/automation systems.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Project Management Professional Certificate.

  • Project Management skills and experience.

  • Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • A positive outlook with an ability to motivate and empower.

  • Adaptable to changing work environments.
