Citigroup IT Business Senior Analyst, AVP in Mississauga, Ontario
The IT Business Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
Responsibilities:
Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT
Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions
Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information
Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support
Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant experience
Experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
Proven interpersonal, data analysis, diplomatic, management and prioritization skills
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Proven ability to manage multiple activities and build/develop working relationships
Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and approach work methodically with attention to detail
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Role: Equity Cash NAM Middle Office Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager – AVP

The successful candidate will play a key role in that success, working in a fast paced, challenging team of highly experienced technologists.
Job Overview:
Business Analyst to join the Global Middle Office BA/PM team, which primarily consists of resources across London, Belfast, New York, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pune.
The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to own the business analysis and project management for technology projects benefitting the Cash Equities business, with many programs having global impact.
The primary scope of work includes:
Working with the business to prioritize enhancements and drive book of work planning,
Defining and documenting business and functional requirements,
Coordinating with development, testing, and production support teams to plan releases,
Providing implementation / post-implementation support,
Managing projects end-to-end.
This will require frequent interaction with stakeholders at many levels of the organization, from junior analysts to senior management, across multiple departments including the Front Office Business, Middle Office, Finance, Compliance, Risk, Technology, as well as external vendors
Duties & Responsibilities:
Business analysis effort to deliver critical projects
Requirements gathering to Citi standards
Management of project deliveries - business discretionary, tech mandatory and regulatory, as assigned
Chairing and driving status meetings, SCRUMS, and other meetings as needed
Resolve day-to-day project issues and conflicting workload priorities
Reporting on project status, next steps, issues, and risks to stakeholders and sponsors
Project and program oversight and budgeting
Assisting and supporting user community with change management
Overseeing test case creation
Ensuring release contents are understood by the business, including producing release notes
Tracking release cycles
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Experience:
Significant Business Analysis / Project Management experience across the full project lifecycle (prioritization, requirements, design, development, testing and deployment).
Proven delivery record, running multiple projects simultaneously that involve process change and technology enhancements.
Experience managing competing priorities in a multi-stakeholder environment
Equities middle office knowledge / experience, particularly in the Cash Equities area is preferred
Understanding of full trade lifecycle
Understanding of Middle Office work-flows – Block Management and Matching, Charge Calculations, Allocation/Confirmation & Allegement work-flows
Understanding of At-trade Compliance & Regulatory controls
Understanding of regulatory constraints and experience in delivering regulatory projects is extremely desirable
Exposure to Agile project management is preferred
Skill set requires evidence of:
Ability to handle complex projects independently
Problem-solving and negotiation skills
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Knowledge of the key functions and processes of the Cash business
Self-motivation and prioritization of tasks and actions to hit deadlines according to business priorities
