Profile
As the Chief, SMS for Design, you will be responsible for implementing and sustaining SMS (Safety Management System) for Design within De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop SMS for design practices and procedures for De Havilland
Provide guidance on, and direct implementation of, SMS for design principles within the engineering team
Ensure processes and procedures are in place across the organization to meet the requirements as it relates to SMS for design
Act as a company representative in SMS activities with Transport Canada, international airworthiness authorities and industry associations
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
A thorough knowledge of SM-0001, SMS for Design and Manufacturing,
Strong experience with Systems, Safety & Reliability Engineering principles
A thorough understanding of complex modern aircraft systems
An excellent communicator (verbal and written) internally and externally, able to represent the company to the highest standards
