Canadian Tire Business Analyst, Customs Compliance in Mississauga, Ontario

What you’ll do

  • Liaise with Marketing/ Buying teams to provide Customs expertise on current and proposed products to be sourced. (i.e., duty rates, tariff treatments, PGA requirements)

  • Conduct post entry audit on high volume of data and/or documentation; ensuring that all Customs legislative requirements are met.

  • Arrange payment of Customs Broker invoices and month end payments to CBSA.

  • Research and provide opportunities for duty recoveries and/or drawback claims.

  • Verify and coordinate documentation for exported products.

  • Obtain Certificate of Origin to lower/eliminate duty paid.

  • Develop/Update SOPs and Compliance Manuals for Customs processes across the enterprise.

  • Support continuous improvement strategies for internal Customs processes.

  • Work with cross functional projects as Customs subject matter expert.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Customs or international trade.

  • Certified Customs Specialist designation (mandatory), Certified Trade Compliance Specialist designation (preferred).

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Customs role. (i.e. Rater, Customs Specialist)

  • Must have strong working knowledge of Customs requirements associated with importation.

  • Knowledge / experience with Customs systems, rulings, Customs Self Assessment (CSA).

  • Solid understanding of Valuation, Tariff Treatments, SIMA, etc.

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skill.

  • Collaborative team players with superior influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward.
