Manufacturing Accountant – Construction & Service SupportAbout the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Accountant to support both our construction and service operations in a fast-paced, manufacturing-driven environment. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy in project accounting, service support, and financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with construction managers, service teams, and vendors to ensure proper billing, cost allocation, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction & Project Accounting
Provide financial support to construction and service managers.
Coordinate construction billing with service shops, administrators, and the credit department.
Ensure proper revenue and cost matching, including managing work-in-process (WIP) accruals.
Oversee cost allocation to ensure accurate job costing.
Review and approve contractor pre-payments and track vendor payments, ensuring lien releases and prevailing wage reports are completed when applicable.
Monitor contractor certificates of insurance and support new contractor setup, ensuring compliance.
Maintain and renew Contractors Licenses as required.
Service Operations Support
Process service accounts payable (AP) invoices, ensuring correct coding and payment terms.
Assist field personnel with vendor payments, including credit card payments and credit applications.
Monitor and assist with lease renewals for 35+ service shop locations, ensuring payments are accurate and timely.
Review vehicle lease payments for proper coding and budget forecasting.
Ensure revenue and cost alignment for non-construction service revenue.
Prepare monthly technician hours reports and support leadership with ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
Assist with general ledger inquiries and enter journal entries for month-end close.
Requirements
What You Bring:
3+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing, construction, or service-based industries
Strong understanding of job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and AP processes
Experience working with work-in-process (WIP) accounting
Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance
Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, or similar preferred)
