GKN Automotive EHS specialist in Miskolc, Hungary

GKN Automotive Hungary:

It is a truly exciting time to join us here at GKN Automotive in Hungary. We built a brand new manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Miskolc in 2023, which includes assembly and office accommodation. Our Miskolc facility is a key regional facility for the driveline technologies that GKN Automotive supply to our global customer base. We are seeking for an EHS leader to join our team.

  • Support a safe work environment, taking into account company procedures and current legislation.

  • Advises management on health, safety and environmental legislation regarding changes and subsequent consequences, updated if necessary procedures.

  • Advises management on Group and Divisional HSE standards, initiatives and requirements, reviews the consequences and ensures the processes, appropriate updating of procedures or work instructions

  • Ensures compliance with international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO50001)

  • Prepare monthly reports on EHS performance KPIs and ensure that reports are timely be completed in accordance with factory, divisional and global requirements. He helps and gives advice help the company achieve its EHS goals.

  • Ensures all HSE business risk assessments are carried out and where required develops the risk reduction programs. ERM process use and appropriate follow-up taking measures.

  • Managing the selection and application of risk management measures.

  • Risk profiling (Zurich hazard analysis) and appropriate corrective measures taking care of it.

  • Auditing the factory's HSE systems and processes.

  • Investigate and report all major on-site accidents.

  • If necessary, contact with external authorities.

  • Management of accident insurance claims.

  • Evaluation of accident statistics and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • It advises on safety and fire protection legislation and ensures incidents correct investigation.

  • Providing service on call for major fire, safety or security incidents is the norm outside opening hours.

  • Ensuring compliance with the security procedure and updating it as necessary.

  • Support for the maintenance and implementation of proactive and reactive monitoring systems.

  • Responsible for managing ergonomics and manual material handling throughout the site.

  • Maintaining or improving energy management compliance to ISO 50001.

  • Identification of knowledge gaps in environmental protection, health, occupational safety and protection providing training to all employees, including training new employees and current employees continuous training of employees.

  • Develop, review and communicate local process and procedure changes and improvements.

  • Promoting an environment-conscious, health and occupational safety awareness culture throughout the plant.Expectations:

  • University BSc/MSc technical specialization

  • Nebosh HSE or equivalent certificate / qualification required by local legislation

  • Fire protection qualification

  • Confident oral and written English skills.

  • Experience in a quality assurance function

  • Experience working with IATF 16949 and ISO 9000 standards

  • Experience with core quality tools including SPC and PPAP

  • Formal problem-solving skills (5WHYs, 8D, fishbone, PPS, etc.)

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/ ISO 50001 standards

  • Risk assessment experience (ERM, ZHA, etc.)

  • Energy management

  • Environmental skills
