City of Mishawaka Ice Rink Manager in Mishawaka, Indiana
JOB TITLE - ICE RINK MANAGER
DEPARTMENT:Parks Department SALARY:$14.75 per hour HOURS:Various
DEFINITION: Managers will report directly to the Director and Assistance Ice Director.
EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, printer, phone, cash register, broom, mop, skate sharpener, snow blower, snow shovel, toilet brush, city truck.
JOB LOCATION: The majority of the job takes place at the Ironworks Ice Rink. Coverage for special events is required as necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs, stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted. The employee must have the ability to accommodate to changing climate including inclement and sunny weather.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will work in a city facility and/or park. They will work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Ensure the safety of all patrons Identify potential accident hazards Be alert, or prevent accidents Enforce all policies, rules, and regulations in a consistent manner. Handle discipline situation with courtesy and fairness Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with the established emergency and accident procedures. Administer first aid and CPR as necessary (if certified) Participate in regular in-service training sessions Inspect the facility and report any irregular activity or unsafe conditions/equipment to the Director. Act as the Director would if he/she is not present
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PREFORMED: Take daily water samples to check chlorine and pH levels Take daily deposits to City Hall if the Director is not present Oversee all employees and enforce all rules and regulations Preform cash, check, and credit card transactions Perform routine housekeeping tasks (sweep, mop, cleaning bathrooms) Maintenance to ice rink surface, ice resurfacer, and pumps
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must take responsibility for the well-being of our patrons and employees
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Qualifications and Certifications Completion of at least one year of college CPR, First Aid, and AED Knowledge/experience in cashiering The ability to work under minimal supervision Exhibits dependability, punctuality, teamwork, and enthusiasm. Pass a background check and drug screen
