Summary About the position: The primary purpose of this position is to receive, check, store, and issue supplies and equipment at the Misawa Collocated Club of the 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB, Japan. This is a Regular Full-Time employment category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Military Spouse Preference IS lost if selected for this position. Responsibilities Receives, counts, weighs, and checks items to ensure that the vendor has delivered the type and quality of items purchased. Accepts only items listed on approved purchase order receiving copy. Records quantity received on purchase order receiving copy, condition of items, and forwards completed document. Places items in stockroom locations, stacking items in groups by commodity and size. Stocks empty spaces on shelves and neatly arranges the merchandise. Fills requisitions of activities and retains triplicate copy of the requisition in the storeroom to account for the issues. Forwards all signed storeroom requisitions to the supervisor at the end of each workday. Reviews stock levels with supervisor for adequacy and recommends disposition of slow-moving or dead stock items. Assists in end-of-month inventories of stock by counting items and giving figures to supervisor. Ensures that the supplies and equipment are safeguarded and secure at all times; permits only authorized personnel in storeroom; during periods of absence, locks and secures all storerooms. Turns keys over to supervisor according to prescribed procedures. Maintain high sanitation standards and cleans storerooms and stocks regularly. May operate government vehicles in fulfillment of job duties. Performs other related duties as assigned. "This is a drug testing designated position. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in and knowledge of methods used in receiving, storing, and issuing routine materials and equipment. Must be able to organize, arrange, and remove stock. Skill in use of dollies, jacks, and hand tools used in warehousing tasks. Must be physically able to frequently life and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Conditions of Employment: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license (4EJ). This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and is subject to random testing for drug use. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
