Pacific Air Forces Lead Cashier in Misawa AFB, Japan

Summary About the position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform receiving and disbursing cashier duties at the Misawa Collocated Club of the 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa, AB. This is a Regular Part-Time position; guaranteed 20 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours a week depending on the needs of the facility. Military Spouse Preference IS lost if selected for this position. Responsibilities Maintains accountability of the activity change and slot fund. Serves as primary funds custodian and is accountable for cashier change/imprest funds in excess of $100,000 and/or daily cash receipts from $500 to $15,000. Ensures all monies are accounted for by balancing with the posting of funds placed in the activities safe before actual bank deposit. Prepares cash drawers for daily operation. Balances the change fund and daily deposit accurately. Prepares bank deposits and corresponding paperwork. Receives registers and prepares cashier's reports. Collects cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit card receipts, coupons, and other supporting documentation. Ensures the proper accounting for charge cards, sales slips, and guest checks. Prepares and issues change from funds as required. Notifies supervisor of any suspected irregularities. Operates a register and cashes checks and accepts payment for dues and charges to accounts. Assist customers in signing up for a Club membership. Pays out jackpots and prepares corresponding paperwork after authorization. Pays out view cashless and assist in slot harvest. Performs other related duties as assigned. May work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must also have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. May work an uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
