Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Test Engineering Manager in Digital Engineering to lead our test engineering team supporting our digital transformation initiatives. This critical role aims to enhance our digital capabilities to bolster customer experiences and stimulate growth. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a robust background in digital technologies, quality engineering and a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams who is extremely passionate in collaboration and high-speed product delivery. As a test engineering manager, you will be tasked with leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative test engineering solutions that align with our strategic objectives, while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. You will lead and mentor the test engineering team, instill and foster Agile, DevOps and SDET (Software Development Engineering in Test) culture to entire team.
Specialized Skills and Technologies
· Experience in managing large test engineering team in agile environment preferably in B2B eCommerce domain
· Strong working knowledge of software testing processes and best practices including test automation, SDET culture and performance engineering
· Experience in creating test automation strategies and building reusable test case libraries for Web, API and E2E testing
· Strong working knowledge of software testing and automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Katalon, Tricentis Tosca etc.), technologies and vendors
· Must have hands on experience in developing and deploying apt test automation tools and frameworks including Web and Mobile test automation
· Extensive hands-on experience in API testing including automation using open-source testing frameworks like Rest Assured, Karate etc.
· Strong working knowledge of agile software development and DevOps process
· Experience in agile test management tools like JIRA with Zephyr or similar tools
· Strong understanding of modern software development frameworks and languages including React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, GraphQL and practical knowledge of Docker and containerization techniques.
· Experience in Jenkins, Github/Gitlab, Sonar Cube/Static Code Analyzer, NEXUS or similar tools
· Experience in cloud services such as Azure or AWS
· Experience with performance testing tools such as Jmeter, Loadrunner or similar tools
· Experience with browser compatibility testing with tools such as BrowserStack/HeadSpin including responsive testing for mobile and tablet devices
Primary Responsibilities
· Lead Test Engineering teams in all daily activities including test planning, execution, monitoring, maintenance, tracking, reporting, and problem resolution
· Build, manage and lead teams focused on delivering high quality products within on time
· Instill and foster Agile, DevOps, SDET and innovation culture to entire team
· Analyze activities and documented resolutions, identify problem areas, devise, and deliver solutions to enhance quality of service and prevent future issues
· Help to define key operational metrics, develop reporting, and set targets and continuously improve. Present operational metrics to Leadership on a consistent basis
· Closely work with senior leadership in the organization to align test engineering strategies to align with organizational goals and strategies.
· Communicate with upper-management and internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
· Mentor, develop, motivate, and coach teams to work collaboratively and effectively by providing techno functional support & direction
· Work with product and engineering teams to define appropriate testing approach and strategies needed for high-speed product delivery and drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
· Applies significant knowledge of industry trends, developments, and capabilities to address and improve capabilities.
· Drive process and technology changes in support of business objectives
· Manage and respond to business-partner feedback to enable continuous improvement
· Develop best practices, reusable tools and methods, policies and procedures that support consistent and comprehensive testing both within applications and across applications
· Oversee and aid the incorporation of tests into automated regression test suites and their regular runs and monitoring
· Own RCA for defects found late in release cycle and in production and translate this towards increasing code quality
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree and formal education in relevant disciplines (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant degreed)
· 8+ years of business technology experience with minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory/leadership experience
· Experience leading test engineering teams focused on modern web and mobile technology and architecture and associated test automation frameworks.
· Experience working in large complex technology projects including those with offshore teams
· Strong track record of managing external vendors and service providers.
· Strong team player with ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a variety of functions as well as able to work independently
· Excellent presentation and facilitation skills to communicate complex information to technical and business stakeholders
· Ability to lead a team environment with the Agile delivery values of Openness, Commitment, Respect, Courage, and Focus
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s Degree and formal education in relevant disciplines (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant degreed)
· Experience modern Agile frameworks like, Scrum, Kanban and LeSS
· Experience in food and beverage, CPG or distribution industry with focus on B2B eCommerce
· Experience with eCommerce and E2E integration with ERP Systems
