Overview

The Scrum Master is a servant leader who enables teams to self-organize, self-manage, and deliver outcomes via Lean-Agile practices. The Scrum Master supports the Scrum Principles, as well as the team values and norms. The Scrum Master also assists the team with removing impediments and helps teams coordinate with other teams as needed. The Scrum Master plays a key role in enabling team collaboration, communication, and adaptability to create customer-centric solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Exhibits Lean-Agile leadership –

  • Exhibits the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Growth Mindset.

  • Effectively, calmly, and confidently leads the teams through change and uncertainty.

  • Helps the team embrace their aligned values and norms, adopt, and apply agile principles, and implement lean-agile practices.

  • Promotes agile practices across the organization.

  • Facilitates the team’s progress toward team goals –

  • Continuously engages in improving team performance in the areas of quality, flow, and value creation.

  • Helps the team maintain focus on sprint goals that align to quarterly Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).

  • Helps Product Leaders in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and alignment.

  • Maintains team focus -

  • Works to address blockers outside of the team’s control so that the team can remain focused on achieving their goals.

  • Helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work or other distractions.

  • Builds high-performing teams –

  • Focuses on continuous improvement of both team and team member performance.

  • Helps the team manage interpersonal conflicts, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

  • Helps individuals and teams through personnel changes.

  • Communicates with management and outside stakeholders as needed.

  • Coordinates with other teams –

  • Is a trusted communication conduit within, to, and from the team.

  • Assists with coordinating across teams where needed.

  • Facilitates team preparation and readiness for scrum events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree

  • Alcohol Beverage experience

  • Additional Agile certifications

  • Scrum Master certification(s)

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
