Overview

The Digital UX Copywriter will work with one or more portfolios. Within a portfolio the UX copywriter will develop copy strategies, manage multiple projects, present copy ideas, assess copy quality and actively participate in the design process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead problem-framing & ideation sessions with content strategy

  • Understand customer literacy and preferred methods of communication inclusive of email, text, and voice.

  • Craft high quality content that is easy for customers to understand and helps them complete their tasks.

  • Effectively manage copywriting tasks on more than one project at a time.

  • Oversee copywriting projects that may be outsourced, proofreading and editing for brand voice and tone as necessary.

  • Lead copy reviews with senior-level colleagues.

  • Provide solid rationale for copy decisions.

  • Make compelling and persuasive presentation of ideas, concepts, and in-progress copy work.

  • Review copy created by other teams, agencies, and collaborators.

  • Ensure brand voice and tone is maintained in all copy.

  • Collaborate with design researchers to continuously learn & iterate copy work.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the design process, as the copy subject matter expert (SME).

  • Contribute and develop ideas to help the product connect with customers and aid task completion, thus leading to positive business outcomes.

  • Help the product designer understand the customer’s instructional needs through research, interviews, workshops, story mapping, and similar techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of UX copywriting experience inclusive of mobile apps, web apps, and e-commerce websites.

  • Experience with user-centered design methodology in practice, with portfolio examples.

  • Experience working in an agile business environment, with portfolio examples.

  • Portfolio inclusive of UX copywriting work showing end-to-end experience: from ideation to launch.

  • Articulate about UX copywriting as a practice, and how it fits into product design.

  • Able to work effectively alongside product designers and developers.

  • Functional knowledge of Design tools (Figma, Canvaa), User testing tools like Usertesting.com, Collaboration tools (Miro, Confluence, Jira) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to generate copy to demonstrate and test with users and stakeholders in a compelling way.

  • Experience with AEM authoring.

  • Experience with writing for conversational interfaces.

  • Design Thinking training, workshop facilitation experience.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine.

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs.
