Kelly Services Service Manager in Minot, North Dakota

We are now hiring for a Service Manager for our client in Minot, ND!

Salary : $100k Hours : 8am-5pm, M-F

Location : Minot, ND 58703

Hire Type : Direct Hire

Position Summary : Manage and direct all day-to-day activities of the service department in the assigned dealership while providing exceptional leadership to the service team members and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, manages, and directs the day-to-day activities of the service department while maintaining a high level of employee morale and maximizing customer satisfaction.

  • Provides leadership to direct reports by delegating and directing tasks, monitoring work performance, and providing timely and relevant feedback.

  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and developing service employees.

  • Initiates contact with customers regarding current and future service work discussing topics such as repair status updates, warranty records, product improvements, support programs, service history, etc.

  • Manages, maintains, and trains employees in all safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Conducts customer visits with the goal of growing the service book of business while continuing to grow and enrich customer relationships and key accounts.

  • Identifies and executes strategies to improve departmental processes and procedures, increase efficiencies, maximize profits, and decrease loss.

  • Reviews and approves all completed work orders and quotes ensuring accuracy and completion within a timely manner.

  • Works closely with senior leadership to create, maintain, and analyze the department’s budget with a specific focus on identifying areas of improvement, controlling expenses, and maximizing profitability.

  • Participates in monthly organizational meetings to discuss the overall health, metrics, and goals of the service department.

  • Stays up to date on industry trends and shares information with leadership.

  • Performs additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of service management experience required, preferably within the construction equipment sector.

  • Strong understanding of mechanics / high level of mechanical aptitude

  • Aptitude for practical, manual work

  • Able to operate machinery and tools

  • Fantastic leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate others

  • Knowledge in creating and following budgets

  • Understanding industry terminology and can explain it to others in an effective manner

  • Demonstrate the importance of a healthy culture and being fully committed to championing that cause and living by the company core values

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong active listening ability

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen eye for identifying and executing solutions.

  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly effective time management, prioritization, and organization skills

  • High degree of professionalism with regard for confidentiality and commitment to ethical behavior

  • Desire to learn new things and think outside the box

  • Adherence to the company core values, mission, vision, policies, and procedures.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
