Job Title: Utility Worker

Available Shifts:

• 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm ( Monday through Friday )

• 2nd Shift : 2:00pm - 10:00pm ( Monday through Friday )

• 3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am ( Monday through Friday )

Starting pay : $22.00 per hour (paid weekly)

• Upon Direct Hire, receive a pay increase to $23.00 per hour and Union wage scale from there.

Job Description

• We are seeking dedicated utility workers to join our team. As a utility worker, you will be responsible for various cleaning tasks within the mill, including vacuuming, shoveling piles of grain, and other physical labor tasks typical in a food processing environment. The mill has six floors, and you will be assigned a specific area or floor to clean each day. After joining the union and transitioning to a direct hire, you will receive training in other areas such as machine operation and maintenance, although everyone starts as a laborer/utility worker.

Responsibilities

• Clean the facility and products using vacuums and other equipment.

• Shovel piles of grain and perform other physical labor tasks.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the assigned area or floor.

• Participate in training for machine operation and maintenance after joining the union.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience in a hot, dirty, and physical environment, required.

• Ability to lift at least 75 pounds continuously, required.

• Experience in utility work, cleaning, and general physical labor, required.

• Ability to speak and interpret fluent Spanish (The trainer ONLY speaks Spanish), required.

• Janitorial experience, preferred.

Work Environment

• The work environment is a flour mill without air conditioning. Candidates must be comfortable with heights and prepared for the physical demands of the job. The environment is heavy, hot, and dirty, emphasizing the need for physical endurance and strength.

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
