We are looking to add a Traffic Engineer to our team who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in a Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Community! As a Traffic Engineer, you will work with project managers to lead elements of traffic analysis for operations and safety in both planning and engineering studies. You will also assist in traffic design including traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans, and providing geometric design guidance from a traffic perspective for projects throughout the region. Typical planning, analysis, and design projects are for State, County, and City clients.
What You Will Be Doing:
Lead standalone traffic studies and contribute to complex corridor studies with cities, counties, and DOTs across our service areas
Traffic studies, traffic operations reports, data collection supervision
Plans and organizes technical project work assignments
Directs & supervises the work of other engineers and technicians
Assists with the training and development of professional and technical staff
Establishes specialty area of expertise in traffic engineering planning, analysis, and design
Provide support to transportation and municipal project managers in transportation related design, traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans
Develops, coordinates and completes the final design and the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates associated with traffic design work
Coordinates the construction administration of signal and traffic management projects
Travels periodically to work site and other project related locations
What We Are Looking For:
B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited college
Three (3) or more years of progressive traffic experience preferred
Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain within twelve (12) months prefferred, not required
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) preferred, not required
Thorough knowledge in related software (i.e. Microstation, Synchro, MS Excel and Word)
Effective interpersonal skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
