Job Title: Tool & Die Maker

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Tool & Die Makers which involves planning, designing, constructing, and repairing a wide variety of intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to very close tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, construct, or repair a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances

  • Perform difficult development work and construct tools where no design is available

  • Select allowances and device mechanism details

  • Perform highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machinery

  • Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of irregular shape, subpress dies for parts of delicate outline, and complex index milling fixtures

  • Perform any tool room machine operation, including CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other technologies required for toolroom operations

  • Work from complicated drawings and sketches

  • Use advanced shop mathematics and all types of precision measuring instruments

Essential Skills.

  • 5+ years of experience as a tool and die maker for Level B.

  • Proficiency in using CAD/KEY, CNC lathe, and other toolroom technologies.

  • Ability to work from complicated drawings and sketches.

  • Strong knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments.

  • Experience with semi-permanent dies, layout work, and knowledge of short run stamping through progressive dies.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • ITAR Certified.

  • Possess or be willing to purchase the required inspection and hand tools upon acceptance of the job offer.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70720.00 - $87360.00

  • Average tenure of employees on the production floor is 17 years and a vast majority started as temps

  • Union Company since 1940

  • 401(k) with company matching

  • Start with 2 weeks PTO that starts accruing on July 1st every year (max out at 5 weeks depending on tenure)

  • Structured % raises every year until maxed out

  • Always looking to expand their business and typically expand every 4-5 years which would either be getting new machines, new production spaces, etc...
