Job ID360133 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyHealth Care Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9722PS Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Generalist Statement of Responsibilities: Student Counseling Services (SCS) is seeking a Doctoral level psychologist to provide individual and group counseling to students, clinical supervision to trainees, and outreach and programming to the University community, including consultation to staff and faculty regarding student mental health and academic issues. This position may also be expected to build and sustain campus liaison relationships and provide on-call mental health support during campus, community, or global crises. Compensation ranges from $85,000-$92,500 DOE Primary Job Responsibilities: Provide personal counseling services via time-limited individual and group modalities that supports emotional, academic, and career development of students Provide clinical supervision to graduate students in mental health programs, including facilitating didactic seminars in areas of expertise Provide intake and crisis intervention services Provide assessment and diagnostic services related to developing effective treatment plans and making appropriate referrals of student clients Serve as an advocate and as a liaison in the referral of students to on and off-campus resources. Provide consultation services for students, faculty, parents and staff related to psychological issues. Conduct and collaborate on psycho-educational workshops and preventive outreach for students, faculty and staff, particularly focused on the mental health needs of historically underrepresented student groups. Provide on-call mental health support during campus, community, or global crises. Leading bi-weekly intern cohort Research and Scholastic Activity (RASA) supervision * Other duties as assigned More about the position We seek candidates with evidence of training, expertise, commitment, and sustained engagement in working with Multiracial/BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ students towards their personal development, well being, and academic success, through culturally responsive individual, group and community interventions. Candidates must also demonstrate commitment to supporting the development and growth of clinicians-in-training in the area of culturally responsive interventions. In addition, we are seeking candidates who have experience and interest in providing specific support to graduate and professional school students. The staff psychologist will have the skills and experience in therapy, consultation and outreach to provide culturally responsive care to undergraduate and graduate student populations, and will collaborate with campus and community partners to engage in meaningful psycho-educational outreach to promote student success and well-being. Qualifications Required Qualifications Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology Independent licensure as a psychologist in Minnesota or able to obtain Minnesota license prior to the first day of employment Minimum two years experience providing clinical services in mental health settings. Evidence of sustained pursuit of knowledge and experience working with culturally diverse populations. Demonstrated experience providing culturally-informed clinical services to diverse and traditionally under-served student groups (e.g. BIPOC/Multicultural, LGBTQIA+, international students, first generation students). Interest in engaging fully in the typical work of a college counseling center, including short-term counseling, group counseling, crisis work, outreach, consultation, and training. Minimum 1 year of experience providing clinical supervision to graduate clinicians-in-training Preferred Qualifi ations Experience providing clinical services in a college mental health setting Experience and interest in providing group counseling, including both process oriented and skill building groups Completion of APA accredited internship in a college counseling center Training and experience in therapeutic psychological assessment Vocational, career, or academic counseling or coaching experience Two or more years of experience providing clinical supervision to graduate clinicians-in-training Experience in developing/delivering programming supporting graduate and/or professional school students Program coordination or comparable administrative experience About the Department About Student Counseling Services At SCS, we recognize and acknowledge that emotional well-being concerns are impacted by social forces in the world related to power and privilege, colonization, discrimination, stereotypes, bias, and all forms of marginalization and oppression.
