Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency Staff Nurse - Inpatient Psychiatry (new grads welcome to apply) in Minneapolis, Minnesota
_SUMMARY_ We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Inpatient Psychiatry unit
This position is a 0.8 FTE (8 shifts/ pay period), 8-hour shifts, Day/ Night, Every Other Weekend.
A sign-on bonus ($8,000.00) is available for eligible external candidates (current employees, contract/temporary workers, and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).
_RESPONSIBILITIES_ Within the context of the Hennepin County Medical Center "Centered Around You" Patient & Family Centered Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: * Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health * Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care * Alleviating suffering through nursing interventions and prescribed treatments * Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others * Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care * Educating patient on their disease process * Assuring continuity of care * Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being
_QUALIFICATIONS_ Minimum Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications: * Psychiatric nursing experience or capstone * Certification in area of clinical specialty * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
