VP, Financial Reporting

We are seeking a Vice President for Financial Reporting to join our client in the Investment Management industry, based in the Twin Cities. This role involves leading teams that manage financial activities in compliance with various regulatory requirements, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, and overseeing regulatory reporting and external audit relationships. This exciting role commands strong leadership skills to oversee the financial activities of our organization in line with regulatory requirements. This person will be responsible for maintaining a high level of control, compliance, and overall accountability of the company's accounting and reporting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical accounting policy management and technical issue resolution regarding regulatory reporting

• Oversight of all financial activities to support the business unit

• In-depth analysis to maintain accurate accounting close

• Collaboration with different teams across the organization to support various activities and initiatives

• Team leadership, coaching, and management

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 10+ years of experience in a complex environment and leading teams

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and regulatory accounting requirements

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills

• Seasoned in financial service industries (asset management, wealth management, Broker/Dealer or insurance)

• Excellent decision-making and priority-setting skills

• Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting

• Capacity to quickly adapt to change and influence without authority

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or related designation

• Master's degree

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Investment Management or a similar industry

• Proven track record in Regulatory Reporting and understanding of Regulatory Reporting Requirements

• Technical Accounting proficiency is a must

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP

• Experience in conducting Internal Control Reviews

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Proficient in using financial software and databases

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; Master’s degree or additional qualifications are a plus

• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills

• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
