Job Description POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director of Wealth and Investments will oversee all aspects of three critical business lines for Bremer - Bremer Wealth, Bremer Investments and Private Banking. They will work closely with executive leadership to set strategy, consistent with Bremer's strategic objectives. Business Line and Oversight Summary: * Wealth - assets under management: $3.9 billion * Investments - book of business: $2.9 billion * Private Banking: $35 million in loans; $560 million in deposits * Direct staff approximately 5-8 professionals and overall staff of approximately 100. A successful enterprise leader in this role demonstrates excellent leadership and people management skills. He/she must effectively interact with customers, fellow leaders, and employees. They understand principles of solid sales practices and can share and impart knowledge in a manner which inspires and motivates. He/she will demonstrate leadership principles and serve as a role model for business-line employees KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES You will have a broad knowledge and expertise in wealth, investment, and private banking areas along with a thorough understanding of local conditions, challenges, and opportunities. Additonally, you are an established leader with solid industry connections and reputation. You have demonstrated the ability to develop partnerships with many business and functional areas, provide insights into the broader banking and investment management climate and related market developments and identify trends which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the business approach to drive results. The primary accountabilities for the role include: * Drive execution of sales/operational activities within Bremer's footprint (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota) * Provide strategic direction, including market strategy, value proposition, and identification of product/solution needs * Promote and enable a strong sales delivery, with a focus on relationship management activities in collaboration with internal business partners across the organization * Enable Bremer's enterprise strategy through setting a clear vision and modeling of behavior * Possess a strong understanding of investment products, financial markets, regulatory, and fiduciary requirements relevant to the business line activities * In collaboration with IT and Operations, identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions to enhance customer experience and improve operational performance * Manage a diverse pipeline of projects of varying complexity * Using key performance indicators (KPIs), hold team members accountable for achieving goals and representing Bremer Bank in the highest regard * Possess an ability to lead teams through significant organizational transformation * Provide direct oversight of key leaders within the three business lines * Accountable for overall Wealth, Investments and Private Banking financial performance * Possess a strong working knowledge of business trends within the marketplace * Must be a decisive leader who can build strong relationships across the organization * Serve as a thought leader and ambassador for Bremer's wealth management capabilities, by representing the organization in external forums and industry events EXPERIENCE AND CRITICAL ATTRIBUTES The following list of work and foundational experiences are considered essential to the success of this position and fulfilling the primary responsibilities of the Senior Director role. * Requires a minimum of 15 years of management and team leadership experience within the Wealth, Investments and/or Private banking segments. MBA and/or CFA preferred. * Requires demonstrated success in developing and executing on a strategic vision, corresponding business goals, and leading a complex business to achieve financial goals. * Proven success in leading a business with operational and reputational risk in alignment with corporate risk tolerance. * Proven ability to establish clear priorities amongst competing short- and long-term interests, stakeholders, and business needs. * Success in driving business results through collaborating with key stakeholders, leveraging collaborative teams and ensuring accountability for goals and objectives. * Strong demonstration of the ability to set expectations, communicate and ensure team member alignment with overall business strategies and operational alignment with risk appetite. Demonstrated success driving sales and service. * Proven success in identifying, developing, motivating, and retaining future business leaders along with track record of developing and retaining diverse and exceptional future leaders.
