This Clinical Research Coordinator position assists management and coordination of research programs and projects for faculty in the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. This research is done in the Oral Health Clinical Research Center in the School of Dentistry. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Study Participant Recruitment and Management 70% * Enroll eligible participants in research studies regarding the established protocol, Good Clinical Practice, School of Dentistry and University of Minnesota policies * Obtain consent from participants * Prepare space for study-related equipment and supplies plus monitor those supplies and investigational products * Be trained to prepare and take down operatories in accordance with SOD clinical infection control and disinfection protocols * Coordinate participant study visits and ensure complete source documentation * Complete sponsor case report forms (CRFs), coordinate monitoring visits, and arrange for lab visits and imaging if necessary * Complete and manage adverse event (AE), serious adverse event (SAE), and deviation logs per department/sponsor requirements Study Regulatory Management 25% * Assist with the preparation of informed consent documents and data collection forms as well as complete continuing review reports and regulatory reports on time * Assist with completing recruitment materials, logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) * Prepare and complete all regulatory duties as a coordinator, such as delegation of authority logs, protocol trainings, and requirements of the study * Maintain a regulatory/essential documents binder for each study * Assure compliance with all regulations and sponsor stipulations as necessary * Maintain an accurate list and status of research activities within your area of responsibility * Train/educate ancillary staff regarding roles in studies Protocol Development 5% * Assist with supporting protocol development for research initiatives * Assist with writing and editing research and technical materials including protocols, consent forms, website content, and user guides * Manage additional workload and trials as assigned during staffing changes * Provide process improvement and CRC perspective for workflow improvement * Contribute toward the Center's goals and strategy * Complete special projects and duties as assigned Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Please detail all the required qualifications on your application materials * BA or BS Degree with at least 2 years of work experience in research; or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 6 years. * Demonstrated ability to work well independently and with a team * Demonstrated ability to adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA Regulations, and HIPAA, particularly relating to human subjects and secure study files * Experience with direct patient contact * Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills * Demonstrates organizational and prioritizing skills About the Department The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is the state's only dental school and the only dental school in the northern tier of states between Wisconsin and the Pacific Northwest.
