Overview
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.
Our clinical staff apply innovative ways to create medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.
The Pediatric Med/Surg Unit has 24 Beds and we deliver care to pediatric patients requiring non-intensive care including specialty populations of pediatric hematololgy/oncology, solid organ transplant, GI/GU & metabolic cases. We also provide general medical surgical pediatric care, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgical, & other care patients. Our team works together with the entire interdisciplinary team (MDs, NPs, NSTs, OT/PT, Speech, SW, etc) to deliver high quality care.
This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the Night shift. This position is straight Nights during the week, 12 hour nights, every third weekend. The position is eligible for benefits including loan reimbursement.

Responsibilities Job Description
Cares for pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow and solid organ (liver, pancreas, bowel, kidney) transplant, metabolic, gastrointestinal, and general medical/surgical patients and their families
Performs sophisticated monitoring using current technology
Handles sophisticated medication and infusion therapies
Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
Confirmed ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
BLS for healthcare providers
MN RN licensure
2 years of pediatric acute care experience or 2 years nursing experience
Preferred:
Acute Care Inpatient RN experience
Proven nursing leadership and professional advancement including certification in a pediatric specialty area. PALS/PEARS
BSN or greater nursing degree
