The research addresses several important drawbacks in AAV-based gene therapy such as vector efficiency, pre-existing and therapy-activated immunogenicity, scaled up vector production, assessment of efficacy in the large pre-clinical animal models, such as dogs, pigs, NHP. The goal of our research to ensure an advancement of gene therapy treatment for patients with genetic diseases and cancers. Focus of Job Responsibilities Lab Work - 70% Perform routine maintenance of large (cell factory) mammalian cell culture. Perform large quantity purification of plasmid DNA. Perform virus packaging by transfection of electroporation. Perform virus purification by cross-flow filtration and HPLC. Perform virus QC with TEM or AUC. Working With Small Animal Models (Mouse) - 20% Assist with general injection (tail vein, IM, IP). Assist with blood collections. Assist with live imaging. Assist with post-procedure euthanasia following established protocols. Assist with post-mortal necropsy and organ collection. Desk Work - 10% Write SOPs. Warrant University compliances. Perform data analysis. Organize data and present data. Qualifications Required Qualifications PhD degree in relevant fields such as vectorology, gene therapy or biotechnology with one or more years of research training Preferred Qualifications Experience in biotechnology and viral vector production for at least two years. Previous work experience with recombinant AAV viral vectors production and application.
