Responsibilities: (40%) Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis (30%) Prepare summary of research findings for dissemination to academic and community-based audiences (20%) Conduct policy analysis of state laws and prison policies related to the care of incarcerated pregnant people (10%) Attend and actively contribute to team meetings; schedule and lead small-group meetings for specific projects (e.g., writing teams) Qualifications Required Qualifications: Advanced degree in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Public Policy, Family Social Science or related field with 1 or more years of research training. Commitment to health equity Deep understanding of the intersections of mass incarceration and public health Experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research Experience with large, multi-site studies Ability to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary research team Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely Experience working with Google Apps (Google Docs, Drive, Calendar) for day-to-day project activities Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with human subjects and IRB issues, especially regarding vulnerable populations Personal experience with the criminal legal system (e.g., personal history of incarceration, family member with a history of incarceration), or experience working with people directly impacted by or involved with the criminal legal system, including currently or formerly incarcerated people, corrections administrators Experience working on topics related to maternal and child public health, with a focus on health equity and reproductive justice Experience working with community-based organizations Willingness to engage in sensitive or uncomfortable conversations with a large team and individual stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Experience working in REDCap Experience working with Dedoose or another qualitative analysis program Benefits Working at the University At the University of Minnesota, you'll find a flexible work environment and supportive colleagues who are interested in lifelong learning.
