Job ID360232 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Researchers Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8352R1 Employee ClassCivil Service About the Job Responsibilities (40%) Animal Handling: Assisting lab personnel in mouse procedures including weaning, injections, and harvests (30%) Functional assays aimed at testing NK cell functionality with a variety of treatments under a variety of settings; all readouts in this setting to be carried out by flow cytometry and IncuCyte imaging analysis (20%) Data analysis and report generation using a variety of software packages (Flowjo, IncuCyte software, PRISM and Excel) (10%) Long-term sterile tissue culture and cell based analysis Program/Unit Description This position is within the laboratories of Melissa Geller and Martin Felices at the Masonic Cancer Research Center. The employee will work on testing methodologies to improve Natural Killer (NK) based immunotherapies through a variety of techniques. The ideal candidate would be interested in furthering the scientific understanding of the immunology of cancer. Qualifications Required Qualifications -Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field of science (Genetics, Biochemistry, etc) or a combination of related education and experience to equal 4 years. -Previous experience in a research setting -Wet lab experience: Knowledge of general lab techniques and aseptic cell culture, mouse handling Preferred Qualifications -Interest in immunology, cancer and cellular biology. -Experience with mouse injections (intravenous, subcutaneous) and bioluminescent imaging -Proficiency in flow cytometry. -Computer experience: experience with Excel, Graphpad PRISM and Flowjo -Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems. -Good communication and technical writing skills.
