This laboratory is working on the generation of novel cellular and molecular immunotherapies for the treatment of various blood cancers with a focus on Multiple Myeloma. Studies involve the use of both cancer cell lines as well as primary tumors to discover the mechanisms by which these tumors escape the immune response mediated by natural killer cells as well as the development of immunotherapies to overcome tumor resistance. (40%) Performance of flow and imaging based functional studies to evaluate NK cell function and tumor killing utilizing cellular and molecular immunotherapeutic products. (20%) Sterile cell culture and expansion of cellular products for testing. (20%) Flow-based phenotypic analysis of primary and cell line tumors (20%) Data analysis and report generation using a variety of software packages (Flowjo, Graphpad PRISM, Excel) Qualifications Required Qualifications: -Bachelors degree in Biology, Bio-physics or related field of science; or a combination of related education and work experience equal to 4 years. -Previous experience in a research setting -Wet lab experience: Knowledge of general lab techniques and aseptic cell culture Preferred Qualifications: -Interest in immunology, cancer and cellular biology. -Proficiency in flow cytometry. -Computer experience: experience with Excel, Graphpad PRISM and Flowjo -Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems. -Good communication and technical writing skills.
